Ads on Blogs (Using Adsense)
  • When Do You Earn?
    • When visitors click on the ads 
    • (Warning: Don't tell your visitors to click on the ad.  Just tell them to visit your site.  It is their prerogative if they are interested on the Ads or not)
    • When even if no one clicks on the Ads, you get 1000 views
    • When you earn $10, google will send you a postcard.
      • If this happens, go to "My Account" in Blogger, "Account Settings", "Payment Details", select "Western Union"
      • To claim, Present 1 Valid Government ID
      • When you reach $100, go to "My Account", "Payment History", and check the exact amount.  Note on the MTCN since this will be presented at Western Union.
  • How to be approved in Adsnese
    • to be honest? This is the step in which I'm still out of luck.  Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    • Use Docstoc (I have still been disapproved by this, but I'll just show you how to do it anyway.)
      • open Docstoc
      • Register using your NEW Gmail Account as email
      • Go to settings
      • Click on DocCash
      • Sign up for docCash
      • Click on Use My Docstoc Email
      • Click Submit
      • Read only the Yellow Part
      • Open your email (The one you entered in Docstoc)
      • Open Google Adsense Access Verification for docstoc.com
      • click on the link to verify.
      • Read the policies for Adsense before you create the Adsense Account
      • create your Google Adsense Account
      • Don't use PO Boxes in your address
      • Use a Mailing Address that has a street number
      • Make Sure Your full name is reflected in a Government ID that you possess
      • Under Partner Website, click on Yes, allow docstoc.com to access my account.
      • Check every box
      • Click Submit
      • Go back to Docstoc
      • Login using your email and password
      • Click My Profile
      • Click Update Profile
      • Finish your profile including picture
      • Goal: Profile Completeness must be 100%
      • After finishing your profile, wait for 1-2 weeks approval email.
  • How to place Ads using AdSense (Using Blogger and Assuming that You Already Have An Approved Adsense Account)
    • Click "Monetize"
    • Select "Don't Add New Ads..."
    • Click "Next"
    • Select "Use an existing AdSense account"
    • Enter the Adsense Email, Pin or last 5 digit of phone
    • Click Next
    • Click "Add a Gadget"
    • Select "AdSense"
    • Click "Save"
    • Do the Add a Gadget/Adsense 4 times.
    • Drag 2 AdSense Box above the blog posts.
    • Drag 1 AdSense Box below the blog posts.
    • Click Edit for each AdSense Box
    • For the AdSense on Top, Set it to "468x15 horizontal row" Large Rectangle
    • For the AdSense at the Side, Set it to "120x600 vertical banner
    • For the AdSense below, Set it to "Banner"
    • Click "Save" and "Preview"
  • How to check your earnings in AdSense (Using Blogger and Assuming that You Already Have An Approved Adsense Account) 
    • visit http://adsense.google.com weekly
    • login your user in adsense
    • Click on "AdSense" Setup/Channels/URL channels
    • Add your blogspot URL in the space provided.
    • Monitor your sales. Change the "View"
    • Click on Top Channels to see which of your blogs earned more.
All About Keywords
  •  Blog Description must reflect the title and the name of the blog, repeatedly - full of Keywords.
  • Use keywords in the text, title, description, image filenames, video filenames
  • Keyword example
    • text - overlooking lake, peaceful
    • title - serene vacation get-away
    • description - surrounded by pines
    • image filename - vacationhome.jpg
    • video filename - lakeshore_resort.flv
    • www....-lakeshore_vacation_home.com
  • Using SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
    • Go to Google Adwords Keyword Tools
    • Click "Edit"
    • Select "All Countries and Territories"
    • Enter the Keywords under the "Enter one keyword or phrase per line"
    • Click "Get Keyword Ideas"
    • Select "Choose Columns To Display"
    • Select "Show All"
    • The following are important
      • Estimated Avg. CPC - How much money (maximum) you can earn per click (Click this twice to sort)
      • Advertiser Competition - Lots of green - great topic to blog about
      • Search Volume Trends - Look for Uptrends or high roller coasters.
    • Other keyword finder: Wordtracker, Free Keyword
      • Enter your initial keywords and click "Hit Me"
      • Enter the keywords to Adwords Keyword Tool 
      • Select "Website content" and enter your webpage URL
      • Select "Get Keyword Ideas"
  • You can download the keywords in CSV or in TEXT
  • Determine the number of "Competing Sites"
    • go to google.com 
    • Click "Advanced Search"
    • Click "Date, usage rights, numeric range, and more"
    • Click "Where Your Keywords Show Up" 
    • Select "In the title of the page"
    • Enter the keywords in quotes in "all these words"
    • Click the "Advanced Search"
    • Take note of the result number after the word "about"
    • Press the Back button on the browser
    • Select "In the URL of the Page" inside "Where your keywords show up"
    • Take note of the result number again after the word "about"
    • Press the Back button on the browser
    • Select "In links to the page" inside "Where your keywords show up"
    • Take note of the result number again after the word "about"
    • RULES FOR COMPETITORS
      • Avoid Topics with Lots of Competitors
      • Avoid Topics with No Competitors
      • Medium Number of Competitors = 300 to 5,000

    Internet Marketing General Information

    Below are my key notes from the Internet Marketing Seminar that I attended.  You can freely browse on them now.  You may add some of your knowledge here.  Just place these inside the "Comment" Box Provided.  Anyway, some of the information I did some research myself.  Some easier tips.

    What Browser is Recommended?
    • It is recommended that you use Mozilla Firefox.  For Google Chrome users, if there is an error in creating blogs specially using www.blogger.com, just use the Mozilla Firefox.browser.


    Pagerank (PR)
    • Ranking pages according to importance (0-10)
    • Goal: Get as high pagerank as possible.
    • How To's :
      • For Mozilla, download the pagerank here. Just follow the instruction how to install this.
      • For Google Chrome, just drag this Google PageRank to the chrome favorites bar.
      • After installation of the pagerank, just open your browser that has the pagerank installed, go to any website that you want to check, and click the pagerank button.

    Some Blog Advice
    • Aim to create 10-20 blogs until you find a niche/topic that earns high
    • Topics for blog must be as much as possible LOCAL
    • Blog topics must be SPECIFIC not General
    • Name Blog using Keywords
    • Get Naming Ideas from Google
      • Type in your keywords. Do not press enter.
      • Press Space
    • Naming your blog
      • Use Adword Keyword Tool - example "Baby Pacifiers"
      • Use Google Suggest - example "Baby Pacifiers Review"
      • Add a CITY or Small Area or something that narrows down the number of people who might be interested in your blog - example "Baby Pacifiers Review Cebu"
      • As much as possible, use the city/town/island
    • Body of blog: Use lost of correct Keywords (Check it using Adwords)
    • Schedule posting.  This allows you to create semi-passive income because it works when you're not online.

      • Using PING.FM
        • This is a one click promotion
        • Open an account at ping.fm
        • Click "Add more networks"
        • Select the sites you are familiar or select all
        • Follow the instruction to link your account to all the applications (like fb, multiply, etc)
        • In the future, just go to ping.fm and do blog posting or status updates there.
        • Ping your blogs!

      • Promote Online, Face to Face, paper but mention the blog
      • Tell Online the Offline and Vice Versa

      • Forums
        • Talk in and announce in as many as you can.

        • Select a category that's fit for your message
        • For every post, include your website link
        • Do that for 100-200 Forums
      • Events Calendar
        • If you have an event, promote your Main Site

        • Key in a specific topic. Example: Think and Grow Rich
        • Select "Country" to be more specific with the search
        • Click on one particular person that was searched
        • Send her/him a message
        • Always use their name in your subject and message
        • Send a friendly message
        • Do not directly sell
        • Example
          • Dear Carol, I noticed you read all of Bo's Books.  Did you know he's written a Children's book called....
          • Dear Carol, I see you read Rich Dad Poor Dad.  How is that with you?  Have you started buying your first investment property already...
        • You can also go to fun>groups and create your own group
        • Or simply message the members
        • You can also search for groups
        • You can create an "Official Group" and members will come eventually
        • Or you can invite them to join.
        • Important:  This takes a lot of time and it usually takes 5 people to do it for one promo
        • Steps
          • Prepare the messages and copy/paste while changing the name per message
          • Open 10 new tabs with "Empty Message" for the 10 persons that you searched
          • Copy text from Notepad
          • Paste all text in the 10 tabs, editing the persons name in
          • Click all 10 tabs "Send" button
          • Close 10 tabs
          • Repeat until all fans have been informed
          • To ensure you have permission to send the 2nd message to them
            • direct them to a website/blog that has autoresponder
            • if they enter their email, you can now send to them using email
          • Use this as a template for other social networks like MySpace or Facebook
      •  Use Autoresponder
      • Use Multiply
        • In 1 minute stretch break, go around the room, write down everyone's:
          • Friendster Email
          • Linked In Email
          • Facebook Email
          • Multiply Address
          • Blog Address 
        • Ask them also, What blog Do You Read?
        • Schedule Event for them
          • Don't Forget the TAGS separated with comma
        • Compose a blog entry in Multiply related to the event
        • Don't forget the TAGS
        • In the calendar entry, ask all interested people to add it ALSO to their calendar
      • Using FEEDBURNER
        • Adding Feedburner's Email Catcher
          • Open Feedburner
          • Click on "Burn a feed right this instant"
          • Enter your URL and click on Next
          • Enter your Feed Title
          • Click on "Skip directly to feed management"
          • Click on "Publicize"
          • Click "Email Subscription"
          • Click on Activate
          • Select "Blogger" in "Use as a Widget"
          • Click Go
          • Select the Blog in the Blogger
          • Edit the Title and Click "Add Widget"
          • Drag the Box to the Top of Blog Posts
          • Save and View
          • You can use this using Multiply
        • When a visitor clicks on the "Email Catcher"
          • The visitor then enters the Email Address
          • The visitor needs to confirm this in his email
          • The owner of the blog must view the Feedburner
            • Select the Blog
            • Click Publicize
            • Click Email Subscription
            • Click on View Subscribers
            • You will then see the email of the visitors

        I am trying to apply what I learned from the internet marketing seminar by Jomar Hilario.  But as I am doing this, I found it really difficult in searching for a particular note from the hand outs and presentations.  Everything was in a powerpoint presentation.  So, I thought to myself, why not key in the very important and useful points in a blog?  So that I could easily search it.  At the same time, I could be reviewed. 

        I really enjoyed the internet marketing seminar.  Jomar Hilario gave us lots of internet marketing techniques.  And cool stuff!  These internet marketing techniques that he embarked in us is a great stepping stone to our financial freedom.  He used effective marketing tools and very strategic marketing tools in his internet marketing seminar.  Not to mention the fun as well.

        I hope this internet marketing techniques and tips will also help you.
